So, I used to be a stripper. I don’t even know why I made the decision to do it, I was already making great money as a sugar baby, but I just felt like it was something I wanted to do. Kind of like an itch you just have to scratch.
I know a lot of girls want to break into the business and become a stripper, so I wanted to go over a few things that new exotic dancers need to know before they start at a strip club. And when I say need to know, I mean REALLY need to know. If you start stripping without this information, then I’m gonna have to pray for you.

Basics Of Being a Stripper
First of all, I need you to know that stripping is a very physical business, girlfriend. If you’re not somewhat well-conditioned and in-shape, you’re going to be huffing and puffing in no time. I’ve had tons of girls tell me they can’t wait to start stripping, while at the same time leading couch potato lives and sucking down mocha choca lattes like they’re being banned in 2 days. No…just no.
Get yo’ butt in some semblance of shape before you start even thinking of dancing in a strip club. Strippers who do the job well are all in the kind of shape that could get you into the Olympics, and they know how to stay in shape year long. If you don’t, you need to get that take care of, because honey, this job will tax you physically like you can’t conceive of.
A stripper needs to concern herself with staying in shape. If you underestimate the physical demands of this job, you’ll be in for a rude awakening.
Next thing is, be prepared to work a lot at night. If you’re not a night person, you’re not gonna like this job. Stripping is definitely not for morning people who like to go to bed at 10pm. Some of the best shifts in a strip club start at around that time. You will definitely want those shifts, because that’s where the real money is made.
One of the other big issues is safety. As you can imagine, when you are in physical contact with strangers, there is always the potential for bad shit to go down. You could get assaulted by some drunk dude who thinks that because he slipped you a fiddy that he gets to grope your boobs (or worse), or you might have some guy fall hard for you because you brushed his erection with your bare ass.
Unfortunately, there will be a lot of guys who fall head over heels for you because you danced in their laps. This is common, you just have to hope they’re not total psychos.
Romeos are the worst because, when they fall for you, a lot of them won’t take no for an answer. They will follow you home, stalk you online, and do all sorts of creepy shit that really destroys mental stability and peace. Yeah, the bouncers can get them off you during a lap dance, but they can’t protect you 24/7. After you leave that club, you’re on your own.
When I was actively stripping, I encountered more than a few of these types, and it compelled me to buy a taser, pepper spray, and a couple other self defense items.
I really don’t like “sticky” people, meaning people who stay after you even though you’ve made it clear you’re not fond of their company. Well, it’s a thousand times worse when it’s a club patron. Every pro stripper I know takes this issue very seriously, and you should too.
What’s Good About Being a Stripper
Strippers who are attractive and can dance sensually generally make good money. The money is something that makes all of the sacrifices you have to make to become a stripper worthwhile.
I know girls who paid their way through college with their stripper pay, and even know one who started a successful online merch business with her stripper money.
One of the big pluses about being a stripper is that you have the option of working as much, or as little as you’d like to. Some exotic dancers can strip one night per week, and still bring in thousands on that one night. They use the rest of the week to take care of their bodies and mental health. That can be a really great lifestyle, honestly.
Only going in to the strip club once or twice per week is awesome, not gonna lie. If you’ve got the right shifts on the right nights, you can make multiple thousands in just one night.
Have to say, one of the biggest positives about doing the stripper thing is that you get to have the undivided attention of lots of men on you when you’re working that pole on stage. This cannot be underestimated, and it’s something that a lot of girls in the business talk about and mention regularly.
Being the center of attention can be great, if you have that kind of personality. It can be almost intoxicating, actually. It’s a sense of being admired and wanted that does something very special to your ego, and it’s a big self esteem booster. When I was dancing on stage, I felt almost like a goddess. It was pretty great.
What Sucks About Stripping
The biggest suckage that you have to deal with as a stripper is the safety issue. Like I mentioned above, having to deal with crazy or drunk fuckers is really one of the biggest downers and anxiety creators related to dancing. I don’t like it, and I couldn’t tolerate it for long.
The next biggest con of stripping is physical toll that dancing takes on you. I actually got injured a few times trying to master poll dancing, and even had to go to physical therapy once to heal a shoulder issue it gave me. That was about as fun as milking a water buffalo on the banks of the Ganges river.
A lot of girls don’t realize how difficult it is to do those moves on a stripper pole. If you miscalculate, or your grip strength fails you at the wrong time, you could end up smashing your ass, or even your head, right into the floor when you fall off. When I was starting out practicing my pole work, I just kept trying because I was so determined, but you really got to want it.
Stripper pole injuries can be a real pain in the ass, and you will likely get several as you’re learning to twirl around on that thing.
Another thing that sucks about stripping is that the only way to make the really good money as an exotic dancer is to get close to the regulars who show up at the club with reliable frequency. These are the guys who spend money, so you need to form tight bonds with them if you hope to pull in major bank.
The only exception to this would be feature dancers, who are basically porn stars with huge fan followings. They can make money easily without schmoozing, but that’s because the club patrons already basically “know” them due to their fame in porn. Chances are, you as a newbie to stripping and/or the adult industry won’t have that built-in advantage.
Having to “get close” with these guys can be somewhat dangerous because, as I’ve already mentioned, many of these guys are Romeos who will fall for you and catch serious feelings. I had a couple of these guys get way too close, and had to let them down hard when I realized they were getting too lovey.
Would I Recommend Becoming a Stripper Today?
I personally had my little adventure as a stripper, and I’m glad I did it, but I’m also glad it’s over. I’m really liking my life these days, being an online-only sugar baby and webcam model. I don’t have to worry about my safety as much anymore, and I have way less anxiety.
I find that I’m making better money than I did in the strip club too. You’d be surprised how much money you can make from generous men online who just want your virtual companionship. It’s not even funny how much easier it is, too.
Like literally, when I think of how hard I had to work in a strip club to make $1000, and I compare that to the couple hours online it takes me to do the same thing, I can’t even believe that there are strippers in this day and age. Like, why aren’t they all just doing webcam modeling and online sugaring?
A cam girl or online sugar baby can literally make more than the best earners in the stripping business. The opportunities to make really big money online right now are huge.
Yeah, you need some equipment to do the online thing right, but honestly, it’s way worth the investment. A decent laptop will cost you maybe 500 or 600 bucks. A decent webcam another 70 bucks or so. You probably already have broadband internet, so, yeah. Not much else needed.
My days as a stripper were full of interesting experiences, but I’ve moved on now. If you want to take a shot at that same adventure, then more power to you. I hope I’ve given you some useful information that can make it a safer and more enjoyable one!
And if you want to check out my guides on how to become a webcam model or online-only sugar baby, I have several on this blog, so just look around. But I would start with this one:
